Thank You for visiting the Sakya Ling Website. Sakya Ling is a Tibetan Buddhist centre which functions for the long term benefit of all beings. Meditation is a fundamental part of the Buddhist teachings because without it there is no way one can bring about lasting changes. The changes we need to make to find real happiness instead of the temporary pleasures we have at the moment.
Meditation allows a deeper understanding of things and the mind itself and this brings a natural happiness which is not contrived or premeditated, it is just meditated. Our normal way of thinking cannot do this.

We are human beings and we have to try and survive in this world. Our external environment and the situations that arise on a daily basis are largely out of our control. But how we react to events and mould the future is entirely optional. In the short term the Buddhist teachings can reduce anger and other volatile, irrational actions. In the medium term it can bring a complete view change regarding others, oneself and reality. In the long term one can realise the ultimate truth, going on to benefit all beings, the by product of which is the real happiness we are all looking for.
Please come and see if this is a path you could use. The first talk will have advice for meditation that is well known for improving concentration, memory, sleep patterns & patience.
The weekly public talks will be held at RISC, London Road, Reading town centre in the evening probably a Tuesday. There will be no admission charge but if you would like to make a small contribution towards the costs you may.
Talks will be given on behalf Sakya Ling Buddhist Centre, please contact us if you would interested.

Dear brothers and sisters,
On Monday 1st August 2011 His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche along with entourage arrived in Reading.
This very auspicious program ( Vajra Yogini teaching & Long life initiation) by His Eminence on the especial day of turning the wheel of dharma required a great effort by such dedicated people working together to organise various challenges such as transportation, accommodation, setting up of the venue at the town hall, advertising, tickets sales & P.A. system, and much more. Which wouldn’t be successful without your help.
On behalf of Sakya Ling heartfelt thanks for your generosity and faith to ward the spiritual progress of all sentient beings without exception go to:-
Firstly, our Gurus, His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, Ven. Lama Jamyang Lekshey & entourage.
Mr and Mrs Chandra Sagar Lama , Deb Gurung, Naresh Gurung, Thosh maya Gurung, Purna Yonjan, Asalman Lama, Dawa shyangbo, Prem Lama, Babu Lama, Bindu Ghising, Manju Shrestha, Bebi Shrestha, Colin Coates, Gary Martin, Gary Watts, Dilu Gurung, Udaye Ghising as well as my thanks go to those who have been supporting from behind the scenes and have been missed out.

With best regards
On behalf of Sakya Ling
